Kelsey Harrison

Indie Rock

Kelsey’s Island of Misfit Noise celebrates an eclectic mix of underrated tunes, spanning all different genres and decades. “Misfit” doesn’t reflect the quality of songs themselves, but rather their unexpected blend of backgrounds and influences. The Island of Misfit Noise belongs to tracks that don’t otherwise get a lot of opportunities to grace Birmingham’s radio waves, from WET’s latest single to the old Neutral Milk Hotel song that has been stuck in your head all week. This show features lots of underground sounds so you’ll likely hear something new, but if that freaks you out, don’t worry. Kelsey sometimes puts Big Star on the same playlist as Born Ruffians, and thinks OutKast is just as important as Modest Mouse.
